One would have thought the princess' misadventure would have been a wake up call. 'Get boosted, get sick, go to Thailand' should be the new tourist ad...

T'is the twilight zone. I just have to chuckle at the absurdity of it all. Life is a game and the world is a stage. No matter how many snuff it from unsafe and ineffective, those 70% living in a collectivist consensus state will continue to outsource their opinions and thoughts to "experts".

Oh God not again. I'm in the USA right now and was planning on coming back in February. They have to be effing kidding on this shit...

I know it's devastating. You'd think they'd give a few weeks' notice but I'd be wary of February being the chosen month to reintroduce the medical apartheid as that's Chinese new year tourist influx time and this charade is under the auspices of 'welcoming' the Chinese tourists...

I wonder if there will be push back from Thais? Or maybe not as the COVID delusion is enjoying all time highs mixed with the national xenophobia towards the Chinese in particular... Could be a majority for this 'new' policy. Good luck Amy.

These new dispositions should be enforced until January 31st. So you should be okay but who knows what’s going to happen in the meantime…

I love that, "it puts the needle in the skin". 😄 I too don't want to get a fake card and participate in the tyranny in any way.

I'm glad that got a smirk out of you. I adapted that sub-heading from a 2021 meme of Fauci photo shopped to look like Rumpelstiltskin with the caption "it puts the needle in the skin or else it wears the mask again."

Ah cool meme. You got more than a smile, you got a hearty laugh. I'm very familiar with that line because I worked as a physical therapist and had a long-term client with a minor head injury. I would ask him to do some kind of exercise or stretch as part of his treatment, and he would say that line to me -"strengthen the quads or you will get the hose". 😄

In an insane world, only the mad are sane, according to Ursula K. Le Guin's novel "The Lathe of Heaven." Kurt Vonnegut's quote "A sane person to an insane society must appear insane" is based on this sentiment.

Nicholas - Great writing and information. my 17 year old grandson is slated to travel to Thailand in a few months with his other grandmother. Is the vax proof still required to get in the country? And might you be willing to meet up with them while they are there? my email: alannahartzok@gmail.com if you can meet with them to send me your personal contact information if you are so willing.

Hello, no vax proof or special medical insurance requirements apply for entering Thailand anymore. Unfortunately, biometrics are ramping up, and now facial recognition and fingerprint collection via digital scanner is sprung on all persons passing through airport immigration. If your Grandson arrives between now and May, there will still be bad pollution. Air quality can be checked for any city here: https://www.iqair.com/us/thailand/bangkok

Air tricorders are handy to measure the PM2.5 levels:

It's worth your grandson and his grandmother asking any hotels they're planning on staying in, if they provide air purifiers in the rooms too.

I write under a pseudonym, so I will kindly decline your suggestion to meet up with your family during their Thailand visit. I wish them all the best for their trip!

If they make it to the North of Thailand, there is a wonderful quiet place in the mountains past Chiang Mai, called Chiang Dao, which is well worth visiting - I wrote about a beautiful temple there, with interesting life quotes and Buddhist teachings:
