Greetings from Phuket. That is good work finding those vaccine compensation numbers from Thailand I mentioned it to some Thai friends when their brother "died suddenly" in May but I don't know if they ever followed up. I found it interesting that all of the information about it was posted in English even though it was for Thai nationals I love how they play those tricks with language. The hospital claimed the man died from drinking too much but the story didn't make much sense he was dead before arriving at Thalang hospital from a seizure according to his mother and he hadn't been drinking that day. Thais sadly seem to be embracing masks as some sort of Asian fetish symbol. I can't wear the God forsaken things and don't so I feel for you...I got hounded nonstop in 2021 about them...
I'm glad you found the piece informative, Amy. Phuket was very laid back in 2020, then for a time it was the place of new normal peak enforcement. Now I hear from friends there it's getting better. I am sorry to hear about your friend's brother passing away.
It does often seem futile to get through to the most indoctrinated friends / family / colleagues...I've found that by not bringing the topic up at all we all get along much better, and interestingly, *they* now bring it up and genuinely want my viewpoint or slowly willing to hear 'alternative media' stories etc.
Except for the push to inject the kids, I am vocal about my concerns with all on this. Time to put up some more information packed QR code stickers around town I think ;-)

It was pretty normal in Phuket in late 2020 especially in my area. Then it veered all crazy mask nazi totalitarian around May of 2021 or so. I am vocal to anyone who asks, but I have deep experience of the fact that most people have to learn their own lessons the hard way. I wouldn't want to be them now. Here is commentary on my Thai experience: https://sukwan.substack.com/p/collage-of-compliance-part-4?utm_source=%2Fprofile%2F43827192-amy-sukwan&utm_medium=reader2
