The notion of Orwell’s book: 1984, being written as a warning, yet harvested by our modern day tyrants as an instruction manual, is now consistently reinforced to promote a state of fear and paranoia amidst the public.
I'd be curious to know how the Kiwis are responding to this. When the DHS in America started similar rhetoric, there was a huge backlash. Of course, President Biden just held a speech accusing anyone who disagrees with him of destroying democracy, but I don't think anyone listened to him.
I'm also burning with the same curiosity. I have some critically thinking friends over in NZ, so will use them as a litmus test to find out the reality of how keen people are to report on one another...
Well, I have a few Kiwi friends and acquaintances. One had OG Covid and was super sick early in 2020. He still thinks "the whole thing is bollocks".
We also know a couple who are quintuple jabbed, unironically wore two masks, even outside with no-one around when masks were no longer compulsory. The wife got shingles. They both almost died of Covid in the last two weeks when they finally got it.
And yes, they said what eugypius calls the "Covid prayer": It would have been so much worse....
Gosh the 'prayer' is still being reeled off ad infinitum. Let us keep chipping away at them and starve the surveillance state of its citizenry based eyes and ears.
There is no hope for these people. They are in a cult.
I had the misfortune to get into a car with the person I caught Omicron from. For me, it was a slightly irritating illness that lasted about two days. He almost died from it. (Guess the Pureblood here).
To be fair, when Omicron peaked, I felt absolutely abysmal. That lasted for about maybe half an hour, and then it went. If that was how OG Covid patients felt then I sympathize. It was bad. I just don't remember how or why.
Anyway, this person - a literal Left Wing Activist. OMG. We pulled into the supermarket car park and he started moaning about the price of fuel. I said "Maybe Russian sanctions shouldn't collectively punish Europeans".
Reply: He (Putin) can't get away with it!
On the way back I said that police beating young mothers and old women was unacceptable. He said "It's lockdown!".
Holy shit.
I had earlier suggested that people were driving more erratically than normal (the inference was that it was vaxx induced).
He downplayed that then literally we almost had a head on collision with someone who was driving like a maniac on a country road.

I said "that's exactly what I am talking about".
Silence came the reply.
I hate normies so fucking goddamn much.
