It is amazing that you could do a news round up of Thailand or any other "western democracy" and they would be indistinguishable. If you hadn't mentioned Thailand this could be the US, UK, France, etc., etc., etc.. It's almost as if we all have exactly the same government.

I notice more of the themes cited in stacks like coffee & covid filtering into Thai media - especially the gender ideology. One world government is here.

It's like this stuff was all written by the same PR department all over the world...your wife sounds like a smart cookie I'm jealous at your ability in Thai language. I muddle through at best and butcher it so bad I don't try to speak it almost at all...

It's never too late to start learning Thai. It's a long journey but well worthwhile!

I know a bit but my speking is abysmal: sometimes I need to repeat the same words 9 or 10 times before I pronounce it right. It is never to late though indeed...

I started off with this book: https://thailand.kinokuniya.com/bw/9781887521000

Reading and writing helps with better understanding tones and pronunciation.

Another good resource:

Farang are usually much easier for me to understand than Thais. I think they tend to mispronounce the words the same way I would...I'll check them out. I did go through some Rosetta stone yers and years ago but it really only seemed good for learning numbers and colors. The accent change and word change between Isaan dialects I'm used to and Southern Thai is tough. I'm often just confused mess even to things I know I've learned before...

Great post!

Wonderful, honest sarcasm.

I particularly liked that you added a clip of "Team America", one of my all time favorites.
